TPWD Great Outdoor Scavenger Hunt

This Summer, Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine takes readers on a Texas sized road trip with the fifth-annual Great Outdoor Scavenger Hunt (GOSH)! It's a great opportunity to discover something new about the place we call home.

Readers are encouraged to explore all 268,597 square miles of Texas in pursuit of summer fun, silly selfies and prizes! Victoria,Texas is an official GOSH summer 2024 destination!

Our dedicated GOSH site in Victoria is the famous Street of Ten Friends sign!

Sign at the TPWD website (, then visit one or more GOSH locations across nine regions of Texas. Each site includes selfie instructions, so grab your phone or digital camera and snap a photo of yourself as described in the entry. You can email your photos to with the subject line "GOSH 2024," or post them on Instagram with the subject line "GOSH 2024."

Complete all activities in a region and you'll get a downloadable certificate commemorating your achievement, along with a shout-out in a future issue of Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine in which we'll salute our GOSH participants. For example, to complete the Panhandle region, you'll need to upload a total of five selfies, one for each of the tasks on pages 46-47.
